Katrina is a professional and experienced counsellor who has worked with many clients from all walks of life. There are many reasons why you may seek counselling. You may have suffered a distressing life event, like a bereavement, or relationship break up. Or you may simply be feeling a bit stuck in your life, or be feeling low and you are not sure why. Talking with a trained professional who is not part of your everyday life can help you make sense of things and find a path forward.

I offer online appointments via Zoom and also face to face appointments in Altrincham, South Manchester. If you are interested in exploring counselling, please contact me by email at info@katrinachaplin.co.uk or by phone or text on 07817 899 604. I offer an initial 20 minute free telephone consultation without obligation. I charge £55 for a fifty minute session.

Depression

Depression is very common, and can have many causes. Together we can explore what may  be contributing to your low mood, and find helpful ways for you to cope.

Counselling-Parenting.png

Parenting

Parenting is one of life's joys, but can be tough to navigate. The stresses of modern life, social media, constant comparison, and different opinions can

all add to the pressure.  Bringing parenting issues to therapy can help you regain a sense of perspective and build your confidence as a parent.

Counselling-Anxiety.png

Anxiety

It's normal to be anxious sometimes, but many of us live daily with high levels of anxiety, often without realising how badly it's affecting our lives.  By examining the common triggers and root causes of your anxiety, we can help find ways to lower it, and healthy ways to cope.

Counselling-Bereavement.png

Bereavement and Loss

Experiencing loss affects us all differently – speaking to a counsellor may give you an opportunity for self-reflection that leads towards healing. If your feelings have been affecting your life, know that understanding and support is available for you.

Counselling-Eating.png

Eating Disorders

It can be hard to face an eating disorder, and they are more common than you might think.  Shame and secrecy can make the problem even worse.  Often the hardest part is telling somebody else.  Counselling can help you to understand your triggers, patterns of behaviour, and underlying causes, and can provide vital support in your recovery.

Counselling-Relationships.png

Relationship Breakdown

Endings can be hard to accept. Don't worry if you're not feeling better right now - everyone copes differently with breakups and deserves the time they need to process their emotions. You don't have to face this alone either; reaching out for professional help from a counsellor could allow you to discover how to move forward.

Counselling-Trauma.png

Trauma

Adults dealing with the effects of previous trauma may find themselves struggling in their relationships or job; and even battling mental health issues as a result.  Within a supportive counselling relationship, you can begin to make sense of what has happened in your life,  gain a deeper undertanding of what wasn't your fault, and take steps towards healing.

Counselling-Stress.png

Work Stress

When work has become an unwelcome pressure in your life, it can take quite a toll. Work-related stress is the result of these pressures becoming much too great to handle alone. It's perfectly natural and understandable that you might need help from friends or family - but if more support is needed, counselling will help you unpack the root causes of your stress and find ways forward.
